Owner and Director Katrina Wyckoff
Katrina Wyckoff began dancing at age 3 and has never stopped. She trained competitively as a child and then danced at Brigham Young University. Katrina was recruited to dance and coach for a professional dance/cheer team in the German Football League in Saarbrucken, Germany called the Saarbrucken Hurricanes. There she performed for thousands of people on a regular basis and led her team to be recruited for many professional and corporate events around Germany. Upon her return to the United States, Katrina began teaching dance and coaching cheerleading. Katrina taught cheer at Cross Middle School, CDO High School, and Ironwood High School while teaching at Centre Stage Dance Studio. In 2006, Katrina took over Centre Stage Dance Studio and moved into the role as director and entrepreneur. Katrina has opened multiple locations in multiple states, including two locations in Tucson, one of which is a ground breaking aerial arts dance studio training students who hope to someday compete in the Olympics. Under her direction, Centre Stage has quadrupled in size and gone on to become a premier and respected pre-professional and competitive dance training facility. Centre Stage has welcomed literally thousands of dancers through its doors. These dancers have gone on to win many awards at competitions (including many national and even world titles), they have danced on the world stage opening for greats such as Tim McGraw or at the opening event of Cars Land at California Adventure, and the studio has won best dance studio in Oro Valley. Katrina’s sound leadership mind and dedication to the industry has led her to become a sought after mentor and keynote speaker for studio owner groups, including the Studio Owners’ Symposium in Las Vegas, Nevada. However, Katrina’s greatest joy and happiness still stems from seeing each dancer grow and blossom as they discover their own star potential from within.
Trained by The American Ballet Theater National Teachers Training Course 2014. Certified in Zumba, aqua Zumba, and kids Zumba 2014. Certified Pole Instructor and Aerial Silks Instructor 2014. Member of the US Pole Sports Federation Executive Committee 2015. Delegate to the World Games in Indonesia for pole sport 2016 National Champion USPSF Doubles Pole Sport 2017. Lead Dance Director for the LDS Tucson Temple Cultural Celebration choreographing and directing a televised performance for 2500 teenagers 2017. Certified Judge for POSA 2017. Judge trainer for POSA 2018.
Katrina has five children, two grandchildren, and loves to travel with her husband.
Dance Manager and Teacher Carissa Birch
Carissa Birch’s zeal for dance started at a young age. Her talent led her to be accepted into a performing arts school at the age of 7 where she began her serious dance training in ballet and jazz. Since then she has trained extensively in ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, contemporary, hip hop, musical theatre, cabaret, world, ballroom, and latin dance. She has vocal and theatre training that enhance her performance knowledge. Carissa has danced competitively all over the nation. She has trained with industry professionals such as Bill T. Jones, Arnie Zane Dance Company, RDT, State Street Ballet, Mia Michaels, Misha Gabriel, Ballet West, Gary Larsen, Christopher D’ Amboise, Robin Wilson, as well as many college intensives. Through inspirational teachers Carissa gained appreciation for dance education and the pursuit of training lifelong learners. She continued her dance education at BYU-Idaho earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Dance Pedagogy. he had the opportunity to perform on four collegiate companies, choreograph and design a Modern Dance curriculum. Carissa toured on BYU-Idaho’s Dance Alliance to Central America where she performed and taught workshops. She continued her education with ABT curriculum and professional training courses. Soon after graduating Carissa found her love for teaching. Her creative spirit and endless energy constantly motivate and challenge her students. She teaches with the philosophy that dance can enhance all aspects of character. Her classes create an environment that is safe for dancers to explore, express, and take risks. She strives to facilitate creativity, self-discovery, and confidence which she believes is important for young people to develop. Carissa is a high school dance teacher in Tucson, AZ. She is also delighted to be in her 3rd year teaching at Centre Stage and currently serves as the Dance Manager, STARS Company Director, Jazz, Acro, and Combo teacher. She loves her students and is excited to share her love of dance with all!
Ballet Manager and Instructor Jme MacArthur
Instructor Kelsey Eggerman
Kelsey Eggerman was born in Bedford, Indiana and began dancing at the age of four. She has had extensive training in many styles of dance including ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, acro, lyrical/contemporary, hip hop, musical theater, and ballroom. She danced competitively for 12 years and traveled frequently to Los Angeles and New York City to train with the industry’s best teachers and the most renowned choreographers. Through her competitive years, Kelsey won numerous awards and scholarships. One of her greatest achievements was placing in the top 10 Outstanding Dancers at New York City Dance Alliance Nationals. She has done intensive training at Complexions Contemporary Ballet in NYC, Joffrey Ballet School in NYC, MODAS Dance, Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles, and the famous Radio City Rockettes. Kelsey was one of 65 dancers invited to do the Rockettes Invitational Week. Her senior year of high school, Kelsey was Pom Line team captain and received Pom Line MVP from her teammates. Recently, Kelsey was a member of the Drop Fam and competed in highly esteemed hip hop competitions in Phoenix and Los Angeles. Kelsey is excited to share her knowledge and passion of dance with everyone at Centre Stage.
Tap Instructor- Eva Ramirez
Eva Ramirez was born and raised in Flagstaff, Arizona and began dancing when she was two years old. By the age of seven, she began competing with All That Dance’s company and attending a variety of conventions in which she received multiple awards and scholarships. For the next 11 years she trained and competed in many genres including tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, Broadway, hip-hop, acrobatics, ballet, and pointe. At the age of 13, she began training pre-professionally at prestigious studios across the country including Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Center, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Eva began her teaching career the following year by assisting and contributing choreography to her competitive teams as well as her high school’s dance program. She soon became an instructor herself and has absolutely loved teaching ever since. Currently, Eva is studying Physiology and Evolutionary Biology as well as dancing at the University of Arizona. She is a recent addition to the Centre Stage Staff and she is truly overjoyed to continue sharing her love of dance with her students.
Instructor- Aubrey Zimmerman
Aubrey Zimmerman has been dancing since she was 5 years old. She has trained at studios in both Tucson and Tempe and studied under numerous amazing teachers from all over the United States. She attended two summer intensives at Houston Ballet and one at Austin Ballet. She has also participated in summer workshops at MODAS in New Mexico, and Steps on Broadway, Peridance Capezio Center, and Broadway Dance Center in New York City. Most recently, Aubrey was invited, on scholarship, to attend Perry Mansfield and work with artistic director Banning Bouldin and the company members of New Dialect.
Aubrey Loves to perform. She has taken every opportunity she has been given to perform via competitions, recitals, and now professional shows and programs. In the summer of 2016, she went on a performing tour of Europe, performing in Austria, France, Italy, and Switzerland. She has won multiple regional titles in competitions and was a Junior national champion at the age of 10.
During high school she was an honor student at a college preparatory school while commuting from Tucson to Tempe 4-5 days a week to continue her training in dance. Aubrey has a tremendous dedication to dance education and loves to support every dancer around her.
Aubrey is a well rounded dancer trained in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Modern, Acro, Lyrical, Contemporary, Tap, and Hip hop.
She is currently dancing on scholarship of the University of Arizona School of Dance. She loves teaching as much as she loves to dance!
Studio Manager- Michelle Jones
Michelle is one of the Centre Stage MVP’s. Michelle has been an integral part of growing our Centre Stage Family into the large and diversified group that it is. When she’s not busy running every aspect of this well-oiled dance studio machine, Michelle is a professional competitive athlete, certified aerial silks instructor, and fitness instructor. Michelle is always friendly, motivated, and willing to help anyone out at a moment’s notice. Her problem solving attitude and sparkling personality are contagious. She is an invaluable community leader, confidante, and friend.
Dance Instructor- Shae Morgan
Shae has studied Dance since the age of 4yrs old. Along with being a gymnast and training for the Olympics in England, her school schedule was full of Theatre classes, Dance classes of Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Contemporary, Lyrical and singing lessons. She has always been passionate about the Arts and the “Magic” created on Stage. She believes truly, that a great performance comes from your heart and the ability to tell a story through your body language. While traveling the world, she studied Dance in many different countries. Her passion was always to create, choreograph in productions and competitions, and learn from various Artists, such as Kenny Ortega, Debbie Reynolds, Alvin Ailey, Marian Weiser, Debbie Allen, Happy Miller, Anne Fletcher.
She has a BA in Dance- Theatre and Business.
When teaching, her core is to encourage every single dancer and excite them with their ability to excel, achieve and go higher than they can reach. Dance is a lifestyle, not a trend.
Shae comes from the U.K, she loves Tucson and the purple sunset mountains. She also says: No one knows you better than yourself, so reach high and make that dream Yours! You can!
Dance Instructor- Nicholas TorresNicholas Torres began dancing at the age of five in Phoenix, Arizona. After completing high school, he attended the University of Arizona on full scholarship and received his BFA under the direction of Jory Hancock. Nicholas’ professional career include the 1st National Tour of Billy Elliot where he played the role of Older Billy and Scottish Dancer. He’s has also performed principle roles in Balanchine’s “Serenade” and “Allegro Brilliante”, Paul Taylor’s “Esplenade”, and numerous commercials/industrials all over the country. Nicholas has had the opportunities to dance and teach in Eastern Europe and Israel while contracted with Norwegian Cruise Lines as well as Royal Caribbean.
